Brett Estrade as been building, benchmarking, and automating the ADCIRC source code since 2001 during his work at the Naval Research Laboratory's Ocean Dynamics and Prediction Branch. He has experience porting ADCIRC to new platforms and providing client facing technical support. He is the Software Architect for the ASGS and its Primary Operator for Texas during the Atlantic Hurricane Season. He has worked professionally as a Perl developer for cPanel for 11 years, and now is the Owner/Principal Consultant for Coastal Computing Services, LLC/DBA Acutis Data in Houston, Texas where he continues his collaborations with ADCIRC and helps small business with the "care and feeding" of mostly internal Perl infrastructures. Perl related activities include being the leader of Houston Perl Mongers (https://houston.pm.org) and Co-founder/Chairman of the Science Perl Committee (https://perlcommunity.org/science) that has collaborated successfully with the TPRC Planning Committee in order to establish the Science Track. Brett is the author of several Perl modules on CPAN and has spoken about many Perl topics, his favorite topic recently has been about combining Perl and OpenMP.
